Not perfect?

Hi
A story to let you know I'm NOT as perfect as you think I am ROFL.

I was asked to do 2 cards the same with different main photo's.

Here's a card I did for the daughter of a girl in work, YES!!!!! I gave it to her with the name spelt wrongly!!!!!!!!!!! How could I, when I KNEW something was wrong and still gave it to her, DUH!

She accepted it quite gracefully. not her usual enthusiastic reception and then another girl looked at it and said "you've spelt it wrongly haven't you?" it was only then I realised I had left the "e" out of her name, I cringed with embarrassment and then took it back and redid the whole card as I had done the same in the inside.  Except! I hadn't saved this version and had to to do some searching again for Niall's photo. Perhaps they'll give me  more time to do a card now - perhaps! AND then didn't take a photo of the corrected one.  At least she was thrilled this time LOL.

Here's the first one I did, spelt properly, so was able to copy the layout, a sketch by Docrafts

I used a digi kit  by Gabi's Scrap-Boutique, Music in the Balmy Moonlight Night

Hats off

Hi everyone, hope you have had a good Sunday, only a quick post tonight, The Midwife is coming on and I must see it.  I have been as hubby says "carding" all day today, so much done too,  here's a post for today.

I have used a digi kit A Fine Gentleman by Studio Linda Renee, I added shadows in PS and layered the belt and hat  and Glamour Dust on the candle flame, inside it says "and party".  The candles are by Katie Creates Digis from her kit A Day to Celebrate, I have used that kit so many times since buying it, Yes! I actually bought it LOL.

Spring has Sprung with Winter's backing

Hi everyone, we have had a fabulous day here, blue skies, bright sun, daffodils shaking their heads in the wind, but temperatures right down to 2C so in the wind VERY COLD.

Here are some of my daffodils, as you know by the name of my blog, I'm a daffodil lover and March 1st is St Davids Day a National day here in Wales and the daffodil is our national flower, I was hoping they would hold out to flower until then, never mind, how can you not love them at any time?

As children we would dress up in national costume on St Davids Day and have a school concert then have a half day off school, invariably it would end up most of us being taken into town to show off our costumes, looking back it was a wonderful day, as we girls would be centre of attention.

Enough of my gardening, it's cards you've come here for, so here we go.

This card was for a friend who has 2 Yorkshire Terriers, she is what I could call obsessed with them, I know she would agree LOL.  Anyhow as I had used digis before on her cards I thought this little piccy would be different for her this year. I have used a cluster from ABD Designs at Digital Design Studio.  I printed it all onto the card then printed the charm, butterfly and the larger flowers again onto photo paper, which added a shine, to 3D layer them. I added Glamour Dust and voila. I  love the lace and with the added shadows I think it looks almost real.

I am going to enter these challenges

Cute kitty?

Hi everyone, where has the time gone again?, I seem to be racing myself to catch up on things, blogging is an example, I have cards to do in a short time and blogging has to go out of the window.  I am trying to keep up with comments, but only with the follower email subscriptions that people have links for on their blogs.  I find it so much easier, don't know about you, but the blogs I follow by email subscription come straight into my emails and I comment at the time, no more searching.

Does anyone have an easier way of staying in touch with blogs quickly?  I love to see what's happening. I know there must be a way, because a couple of my followers, no sooner have I posted than they comment, which is what I would love to do.

That, believe it or not, was an apology to those who I haven't commented on their blogs for ages. Sorry.

Anyhow, here is my card for today, I was asked to make a card with brown and terracotta, I just had to add other colours and was fortunate to find these in my files, the digi papers are Owl Always Love Spring by Summertime Designs.  The cat is a freebie from Papercraft Inspiration.  The ribbon is from Fantastic Ribbons and the fab sentiment is from When the Scrap hits the Fun, which I coloured to match the card in PS. I did everything in PS as usual.

The background texture is printed directly onto the card and has been textured in PS, I thought it may be too heavy just a plain brown. I printed, then added the papers to the card, (I had added the name before printing) also added text to the terracotta paper saying wonderful sister and other lovely things, I added paper flowers from the same kit and glittered with Glamour Dust.  I added 3D clear gloss to the name.  I followed the Splitcoasters layout 97. whew!

I shall enter these blogs with this card

Get well Card

Hi everyone, a dull Saturday here, but quite mild at 11C.

I have a get well card today, that I was going to enter a challenge with, but I got lost with time again, so decided to show you anyway.

I used Pink Petticoat papers and a quote from the brilliant Paulette at Create with TLC Here.  I printed the PP Silver Gingham directly onto the card with the quote, I used a gradient overlay in PS to colour the quote and placed it onto a piece of the PP doily paper I had copied in PS to match the tissue box.  I then printed out the doily paper and made a little tissue box, which I had first made in PS with an added shadow in the centre. I placed the tissue box on the card after adding tissue inside the box to pull out of it.  I hope this doesn't sound too gobbly gook LOL

Monogram cards

Hi Everyone, I'm sitting here with the sun shining, can't believe it, after so much rain and snow, it's WONDERFUL, (even though we have had a couple of rain showers today)

Here are my cards for today, 2 today, because 2 of my brothers had birthdays within a week of each other and, as I had downloaded the monogram cutting files from Krewella Designs HERE  I thought I would give them similar cards.  I have used paper from A Day to Celebrate - Boys by Katie Creates at  Stuff to Scrap Simply Scrapping Stuff. I have used the papers a lot recently so look out for more LOL.

No I haven't made a mistake in the order of the letters, I have placed them in the order they were done. LOL,  these monograms were so easy to cut, even though I made them smaller than the original cut file.

The card with B on, I printed the background directly onto the card, cut the other papers after printing, and placed them on the card.   I cut a cream frame with my Cricut and matched it with the balloon paper then cut out the B in the same cream and layered it on a navy background and 3D'd onto the frame which was also 3D.

The A card  I printed all the papers directly onto the card, I used shadows in PS to show them layered. I added 3D bunting from the same set and cut the A from card printed with the background design and placed it over silver mirror card, I tied a length of cord to the A then 3D'd onto the card.

I used the same sketch for both cards -   I was going to enter the challenge of the sketch, but time went too quickly for me.

Hope the sun is shining where you are.
