Hi Everyone

It's time for a new challenge at

 Digitally Sweet Challenges

the Theme is

Friendship

sponsored by  Sparkle N Sprinkle

My DT image is Happy Car and I have to admit to loving this image, I decided after a few tries to go the Grunge route, but as I'm not a grunge type, I did it my way LOL.

I used masks by Valentina Designs, Kimeric and Just Jamie for the patterned areas, I used Grunge Wall texture6 by p.szczepanski at deviantart for the background over orange, the car has an overlay of  rust03 by Anne Frost also at deviantart. For the chrome element on the car I used  rust07 also by Anne Frost.  I could go into a lot more detail of how I got to this result, but it would not interest a lot of you, so if anyone is interested then contact me and I'll try and explain.  The text is altered to appear to be written on an old wall.
this is the inside of my card  the road is a Yin Yang shape in PS
which I changed slightly to make the road. I also added a car shadow.
Here is the printed card. I added Glamour Dust to the chrome elements - well you have to have Sparkle don't you? I also added acetate into the windscreen. and layered the front area of the car. Do you like my made up number plate?

I really enjoyed doing this card, sometimes cards or projects are done and you are pleased, other times they stand out, at least to me, this one stood out, probably because I loved the image and I used different ways of working in PS and learned more through the process as well.

Thank you card

Hi Everyone,
I had a wonderful buffet as a send off in work last week, there were at least 8 large tables of savoury food and 3 large tables of deserts, all brought into the kitchen area of the Department I worked in, by the staff, I had lovely things said of me and a cheque which was a collection from the Dept. There must have been at least 60 of them there including a couple of Consultants who came and said they would miss me too. I did tell them to remember me, in case I needed treatment in future and to be good to me  LOL. I started my thank you speech and couldn't finish it, too many tears - I will miss them all, and getting into a routine is nigh impossible at the moment.

Anyhow onto my card, this is what I am sending them as a thank you.  I saw this card HERE and it gave me a thought.  I already had the Dr Digi image so went for it.  I said "Fank Ewe", because I speak silly like that to them sometimes, (they know I'm a "little" crazy) inside I wrote "...for making me feel one in a million".  I saw this card HERE and loved what Jenny did, so copied the layout. Thanks to them both for giving me the ideas to put this card together. All done in PS.

I didn't do lots of layers just the sheeps head, as it will be on a table in the middle of the kitchen area, so everyone can see it and it will be handled a lot, at least they usually are!

the papers are -
Blue Swiss dots Pink Petticoat
B Gazarek digi kit Enchanted - green paper
the sheep coat is A Manda Creations digi kit Squeeze - stars, which I played with in PS to get what I wanted.
Perlen Pen for the pearls.
Glamour Dust on the words.

Hi Everyone

It's time for a new challenge at

 Digitally Sweet Challenges

the Theme is

Blue, Yellow and White

sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps

My DT image is lbhello.  Now I hear you saying a ladybird (bug) is normally red and black, well it's PS land, so it can be any colour and today she is blue and yellow! My initial thought was a CAS card as the image lends itself to it, then decided to have a look at my sketch files and chose this one by Graphicat 2013.

I did lots to this, including, the custom banner shape files by HG designs were linked to DP's from a digi kit Denim and Daisies by Just so Scrappy, into material with an Atomic Cupcake action.

I used the banner shape to add a shadow to make it look like the material was curling upwards, I added the flower border also from the digi kit and embossed it to make it look like it was "sewn into" the background. I added pins to hold them to the background.

Now onto my image and it's "cloud".  The shape is from a Digi kit Nerd Herd by A. Bloom. I overlaid it with a background by Gina Jane Johnson so it had clouds in a cloud! then added the Bugaboo Hello and coloured and shadowed it.  It's such a sweet image.

I suppose I could go on with what else I did, but I expect it would bore the pants off most of you so I'll end it at that.  Hope you like it.

Here it is printed and layered and 3D glossed.

Sarntangle card

Hi Everyone, I have followed Sarn at Stamping for Pleasure for a few years and have loved her Zentangles and then her very own "Sarntangles".  She is such a clever lady and lovely too.

I decided to buy one of her digi Sarntangles, putting my money where my mouth was, in always admiring what she did and does.  This is my effort and trying to emulate (and failing) her art. I did it in PS and then added Glamour Dust Glitter and a piece of black ric rac and mounting it onto black card.  The white of the cards were different, there is also a bit of shadow on the white making it darker than it actually is. but I think it emphasises the image more, at least that's my story! The font is FultoonHMK, which I think matches the drawn doodle effect.

Challenges -

Look what I had as a present from hubby today, my favourite rose in the garden, I'm sorry I don't know what the name of it is, but it is a huge T rose with the most beautiful perfume and the first to blossom in the garden.  I don't usually pick flowers from the garden, so this to me is a treat, Bless him, I think it was because I wasn't well yesterday, I had the dreaded cystitis!!!!!!!!! better today after a bit of treatment and gallons of water and cranberry juice.

Birthday card with scene

Hi everyone, we have had 2 very heavy hailstone showers today so as the washing is out I am looking out of the window to make sure there isn't another shower to wet them again :) looks very dark!  Just ran out and caught them in time, into the dryer now, however, now the sun is shining!  Oh! well they were nearly dry.

Anyhow on to my card today. I was asked to make a road with a row of houses with the name of the recipient as the name of the road.  I have changed it to protect his identity and decided to add a Welsh name it means "Little Road". All put together in Photoshop. My friend thought it a "happy " card, hope you do too.

I used -
the sky, clouds, picket fence, houses, bunting from a digi kit Picket Fences by Wishing Well Designs
the trees are from a digi kit Earth Day by Donna's Digital Designs.

I was going to enter other challenges which suited this card, but it seems that "Digital" is not acceptable at most challenges.  I hope it's acceptable to the challenge at Come and Get it Challenge which I am going to enter into their Birthday challenge.

16th birthday card

Hi Everyone a post of my own at last, as I said yesterday it has been a bit hard for me the last few weeks, but hopefully I am going to follow these words -

Pick yourself up,
Take a deep breath,
Dust yourself off.
And start all over again

Nothing's impossible, I have found
For when my chin is on the ground
I pick myself up, dust myself off
And start all over again

Don't lose your confidence if you slip
Be grateful for a pleasant trip
And pick yourself up, dust yourself off
And start all over again

Work like a soul inspired
Until the battle of the day is won
You may be sick and tired
But you'll be a man, my son

So after all that - my card today is for my Great Nephew in Belgium, it had to be flat to get through the post. I have seen somewhere the concept of "6 teen", which I thought brilliant, but can't remember where I saw it, I had a trial of my new Cuttlebug embossed happy birthday on my desk, so put the 2 together.  Cut it all out on my Cricut, had to add the little inserts in the 6 and e, punched a border added his name - voila, and NO Photoshop can you believe it? well I did do the inside with PS so no withdrawal symptoms after all :)

I used -
Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder
Double sided Paper by Bo Bunny back to basics
Linen card by Papermill
Border punch by Martha Stewart
Spellbinders Die from the Moroccan Motifs
Ribbon off a jumper!

09 May 2014

Hello

Hi Everyone,

I have had the last day of my working life, yes I have retired! It has been a hard few of weeks for me, as I had to train a young man to take over from me, but only had 5 working days to teach him 14 years experience of the job. I don't envy the poor guy, he even told me he had gone to bed early as he was tired out! He's 26. I am finding it more difficult than I ever thought it would be.  Can't believe I've been a bit down about it too.

Oh! well here are a couple of cards for you, that made me smile, hope they make you smile too.

It's time for a new challenge at

Mothers

sponsored by  Lunergirl

For my DT, I produced them as one card in Photoshop and changed the sentiments as you can see, because I couldn't make up my mind which to use, I also did 2 interiors.  I used this sketch to follow.

Do you know a Mother like these?  I do LOL.

The image is from Lunagirl The pink paper is Vintage pink & brown by BGazaraek the stripe paper is by Pixelberry, the half circle is cardboard by Snickerdoodles, the beaded ribbon is by A Sailors, on my printed cards I layered the shape and banner and I added Glamour dust to the seated lady.  Here are the printed cards.

This is the interior of one, the "Time to Dance" card" has "...and Celebrate You"
The sentiments come from Gingers House.

DSC #86 Anything with Wings

Hi Everyone

It's time for a new challenge at

 Digitally Sweet Challenges

the Theme is

Anything with Wings

sponsored by  Lacey Sunshine

The fabulous image I chose as my DT choice for this challenge, is Willow's butterfly friend.  I have been quite bright in my choices of cards of late, so decided to cool it right down with this combination of colours by Design Seeds.
I wish my printer would print colours as they appear
on the screen and also why does the camera do it's choice of colour sometimes too? Here is the digi option and the hybrid option.  The background butterfly paper is by Pink Petticoat, the butterfly dies are Tonic dies.  The stitching is digi by Atomic Cupcake and the tiny butterflies are PS shapes, coloured with the colours on the swatch and then a PS "pattern" added to them.

AND then I decided to do another in different colours, make your choice :) this time I used these brighter colours (I couldn't stay away from those bright colours) and used Tonic Butterflies & Blooms Die.  Yes I know it's unusual to have 2 DT cards, but  I loved the image and she looks so good in either colour, at least I think so.  NOW if  I can get her facial colour to print out what I see on screen I'll be laughing LOL.  Oh! yes the DP  is Blue Hydrangea by Audrey Jean Roberts, I also drew some swirls in PS and copied the shape to my Cricut and it's cutting program, printed out the sentiment that I had sized to the shape, I'm quite pleased with this too and it can be used over and over wherever I use some scrolls. I've added the shape to the bottom of the post so if you want to copy and cut it yourself, you are welcome too.

Hope you can enter this fun challenge and give us your take on "something with wings".
Here's the shape.
I'd love it if you would give me credit for this
