Sewing Card

Hi Everyone.  What a difference in 2 days ay? lovely today, down to 20 degrees with a cool breeze.

On to a card I made for my SIL she really is a super needlewoman.  Practically a "Taylor" after making a beautiful Chanel type jacket.

I had to include a sewing machine and then used actions and styles to change the DP's into fabric and embroidery and added stitches to match the colours, all in Photoshop.  I cut the sentiment out on my Cricut.  After printing, I 3D'd the DP's and the top layer with the machine on it, I couldn't go too high as it had to be posted.  Glad to say she liked it.

All DP's are by Summertime Designs
The only info I have of the sewing machine is the file is HW+Sewing+machine, (I've had it for years!)
Sentiment font is Stitching Cards 310
Greeting is Murray Bold

Embellish it up

sponsored by  Stitchy Bear

My DT choice today is Chilling Meerkat Digital Stamp and Paper pack by Coosty Creations, you should know my sense of humour and as soon as I saw this meerkat, I just had to have him.  I can hear Igor (from the advert in the UK) telling this meerkat to enjoy himself LOL.

I used this sketch

I have included in this layout, centre diagonal, some rocks (I took a photo of) and then added a plain paper over it to change the colour tone.  I also added free rock texture from Photoshop tutorials here to the rocks behind meerkat, then added different colours to match. I coloured it all in PS.

Here is the printed card, I've added real sand as an extra embellishment as well as 3D - the sand layer diagonal, the beer sentiment, the central circle and the meerkat, so I suppose you could say I have "upped" the embellishments :)

Wellies!

Hi Everyone, I decided I wanted to do a bit of cutting out for a change, well not literally, but on my Cricut. I am ashamed to say that I have an awful lot of files that have only seen my file system, certainly not anything else. Looking through I saw these and thought that they looked easy enough and I had card that would match the file colour example, after all it was only a play to see what happened wasn't it?

They turned out so well, I was thrilled to see what these files are all about.  Here they are, one a card, one just waiting to be used. They both have 4 layers, making them quite sturdy. I added Stickles for a bit of glitter.

the wellie is 3 inches high and 2 1/4 inches wide,
each example could have been as big as I wanted though.

this is 3 1/4 inches wide and high (square)
The cutting files are from Lettering Delights Garden Showers kit.

Joseph's card

Hi Everyone, you'll notice that my title today is "Joseph's Card", why? Our next door neighbours have a Down’s syndrome Grandson named Joseph.  Joseph is 23 and very clever with drawing and painting and likes to be quite detailed with them. His Grandmother sent me a copy of one of his drawings.  I thought it so good it deserved to be on a card.

I decided to make him a card that he could give to one of his friends, perhaps. It's a one layer card I did in PS. I also made a copyright notice and placed it on the bottom left of the image, I hope Joseph likes it when given to him by his Grandparents.

sponsored by  Lunagirl

Hi Everyone, for my DT project today, I decided to do something a little different as I thought this little chap rubbing head was just right for a card front. I suppose it could have been a forgotten birthday, but he did remind me of my baby brother when we were younger, not that he is that old of course LOL.  I added lots of embellishments and even added a curl to the page, all in Photoshop.

Embellies are Sheila Reid's kits at Pixelscrapper.  I added the fairy, so that hopefully, she will help him remember that he left the bike at the lamp post down the street :)  AND she lives under the mushroom.

The paper is by Digital Diva
Lace is from stash, I scrunched it up on double sided tape.

Mother birthday card

HI Everyone, another beautiful day here, hope it is with you.

This is a card I did recently and just thought I would pop in and show you.  The photo shows it in it's box I made too.

I used this sketch by
 Fat tastic sketch challenge
 for inspiration

I used the Tonic die Butterfly Ringlet Rest, quite unusual for me to use dies, but I succumbed to buying a couple on offer on C&C a while ago. And since I sorted my room out, a lot easier to get too.

The basket a cut file, cut on my Cricut, is a favourite of mine by Shirleys Cards, Shirley always has great files and fab freebies on her blog too.  I used more of the flowers, provided in the file, to overfill it.

DP papers Spring Promise kit by Stella Jane Design.

Title computer generated in PS.

Looking for challenges for this card I came across the news that Digi Haven is closing due to Denise being terminally ill.  I visited Digi Haven frequently, I was a follower and did enter challenges when I could.  The best thing for me was that Denise was a digi lover with a challenge that was all about digi. She will leave a big gap. My prayers go out to her.

Birthday Penguin

Hi Everyone, another heavy load of piccies for you, but first my card for a challenge, I saw the image on a blog it must be of one of the DT or the entrants, but for the life of me I can't remember who, but liked it enough to buy it. Thanks to whoever it was.

Edited 7/7/14 It was Judith Taylor-Wright

Everything DP and embellies are by Two Moose Designs, I added a PS glitter style to the ice and when printed I 3D glossed them. Also 3D'd the beak, feet and flowers and 3D'd the top image layer.  All done in PS and then printed.

I just wanted to share a few piccies of our garden - yes I'm sorry AGAIN, but hubby works so hard in it I think he deserves a little recognition for it.

I did a scrapbook page of our hydrangeas, because I LOVE them, but then I love everything about the garden, except I only do the occasional weeding and being superviser, well, someone has to!

Audrey Jean Roberts background paper, just right for it don't you think?

We even have a little veg.

Day at the Beach

sponsored by  Lacy Sunshine

A day at the beach to me is always Ice Cream as, we always have an ice cream on a visit to the seaside.  When we were asked to choose which digi we wanted to show, I HAD to choose, Eleanor & Pickles Double Scoop, the lick of her lips is just what I do LOL.

As usual this is coloured in Photoshop, I added a chalk edge and used blending mode to blur the edges of the background. Added shadows, and made the huts with PS shapes.

This is the card printed with Eleanor & Pickles Double Scoop, the sunshade and the sentiment 3D layered. (I decided, when printing to add a new layer for the sentiment and place it off the edge.)

I used this selection of colours from Color Q for my card.
The background is by Booland Designs from a digi kit, "Beach collaboration".

Hut 2 DP by D Rutter digi kit For the Love Of.
