Car birthday

Hi Everyone.
I have had 10 family cards to do, mostly men! This is one of them, he works abroad for a car manufacturer,  so didn't want it high for postage costs. I was wanting to enter the Scrapbook.com card challenge so used the sketch to make the card, you may know by now, that I go searching my files for something and maybe it will change my thought process and this was one of them.

I found a digital kit with this fab car in it, (isn't it a lovely colour and shape?). One of the papers was a grill, which sent me thinking of my dies, so cut one and placed it on top of one of the papers and then used the other papers to make the shape of the sketch.

I layered the papers onto the same navy card I had cut the die from. it made it easier to keep the papers straight LOL. 3D'd the card and added pearl drops to the die cut.

Boy Ballet dance

Hi Everyone, hope you are all enjoying your Easter break. A short post you will be happy to hear LOL.

My card is for a Great Nephew, who has taken up ballet dancing, but is being laughed at for it, so I decided to make him a ballet dance card, but not make it too obvious in case it would be laughed at by his friends. You know the same as the boy in the film "Billy Elliot".

Anyhow, here it is. I hope he likes it. I found the image on the web and copied it a few times and changed the colours in PS, I saw a similar image with the sentiment on the web, so decided to case it.

I did a print and cut on the Cameo and cut an offset white layer for it to sit on, it was added with dimensionals. so was the 8 and the sentiment. The paper was chosen as I thought of him flying through rainbows and it made it a bit anonymous I thought.  Hope you understand what I am getting at!

Crocodile smile

Hi Everyone, I heard on the radio today that the UK has the highest flu figures in March for quite a few years, so those of you like me and hubby, are the ones who have suffered from a "common" flu -and there was me thinking it must be an odd one for me to get it! Oh! well, if you have it now, I hope you will be feeling better soon.

Now my card today is using colours that I can't remember putting together before. It all started with me looking through a few card magazines for ideas for a card for my Godson. I saw an advert for a stamp with this sentiment, well actually similar to this. My thought processes are quite bizarre as you may well know of me.

Anyhow, a crocodile came to mind and I started with a cut file, but it had to be a LOT larger for me to get it to cut properly. I searched my files (before buying another cut file)for alligator or crocodile and came across a couple and this was amongst it, Where I got it from is anyone's guess, I have had it since 2009.

Now on to what papers etc to go with it. I already had the sketch from the Outlawz sketch challenge. I searched for water and one file led me to a blog hop set of files and this is the result. I laid it all out in PS, printed and layered the papers and added dimensionals to the crocodile and the lily brads. Wobbly eyes added for laughs. Godson now way over 40 LOL. has a wicked sense of humour so I know he will appreciate it. Inside I have added "That smile looks good on you"

Camellia birthday card

Hi Everyone, I have a Camellia birthday card today, the Camellia is a freebie from Create with TLC and I coloured it in PS. I also designed the paper on the outside and the inside with the camellia and I used a sentiment from Create with TLC.

The pink background is embossed. The scalloped circles I saved it as a png file and cut and printed with the Cameo, then attached them with dimensionals to the printed out papers, on top of the ribbon. I designed a tag and added the camellia to that, then placed it under the bow.  I'm not sure now that I shouldn't have used the inside paper on the outside too, but I think it may have been too much with the top paper, what do you think?

My inspiration came from Pauline at Crafting with Cotnob with this beautiful card.

With Love

Hi Everyone, I have to apologise yet again for the lack of comments on your cards and projects, I decided to catch up today and with a number of over 500, decided that it was an impossible task. I hope to keep up to date from tomorrow.

On to my card, I used the progressive freebie supplied by Art by Miran on their FB challenge, isn't she a cutie? I coloured her with SN markers and outlined her with a light grey and the shape with a dark brown. I laid out the shapes in PS, just so I didn't have to print more than I needed. I added a brown check ribbon and 3D gloss on the bobbles in her hair.

Country Girl

Hi Everyone, hope you've missed me? I succumbed to the dreaded flu, and as I am older it decided to really hit me hard and leave me feeling a little older, weaker and a few pounds lighter! ME! can't believe it, I'm as strong as an ox most times. Just as well I'm not speaking this, as you wouldn't be able to hear me, yep! I've no voice, hubby is pleased LOL.

Anyhow, enough of me, I didn't enter the Outlawz sketch week before last, so decided I should at least try this week and a beautiful Spring day gave me a lift to make this card, it's a card for one of my Great Niece's birthday which is this week, I thought at one time it would have to be a bought card!!!

I followed the sketch (loosely) laid it out in PS and used a digi stamp which I coloured in PS. I added a punch each side. The image is so like my GN I had to use it.

Easter bunny

Hi Everyone, apologies firstly, as it's been my birthday "week", I have had loads of visitors and haven't spent too much time on the 'puter to make comments on your blogs. Not a special birthday, but lovely to see friends and family.

Anyhow, my card today is for Easter and the Outlawz Progressive Challenge. The fabulous image is from Gerda Steiner and was a freebie for the challenge. I coloured the bunny in PS then saved it to the Cameo to cut out the body and the glasses separately. I also used an egg card from Paper Garden Projects and placed the bunny on it using the same background paper of the cut shape of the egg and the bunny's tummy. I added acetate to the glasses and 3D gloss. The sentiment came from the PGP kit.

I shared my card on the Gerdar Steiner Share your design challenge.

Pigs and mud

Hi Everyone, a fun card today, I thought as it's my birthday I would give you a chuckle (hopefully).

I have been challenged by Kathy D to make a card OR 2! for the pig challenge at Scrapbook.com March 2016 Card Challenge there are quite a few different themes to enter. Problem with the pig challenge was choosing one to use, as I have a few, in the end I decided to use Laurie Furnel's Pigs. I had the file years ago from Hugware! I can't even think if I have ever used it, but isn't it cute? I saw a card a while ago that I loved and thought I would case it. I laid it all out in PS as usual and printed it out, 3D the mud splat and the pigs. I saw the sentiment on the web.

Cardinal Silhouette cut file

Hi Everyone, a card today featuring the Cardinal bird a freebie this week at the Silhouette store. You know I am not good at the Cameo workings and I am still learning, that's why I have decided to TRY and enter the challenge at
http://silhouetteuk.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/challenge-free-design-of-week-bird.html
I have used 3 files from the SIL store, the frame, branch and cardinal. I used a  paper template of cardinals and used blending in PS to get my paper as I wanted. I added the green paper and added the sentiment to the shape in the Cameo and used print and cut for the branch and shape. The shape surround and bird was cut from mirror card and the offset was cut from red card. I added plain bird template paper behind them all. Hope that makes sense LOL. After looking at the card on here, perhaps I shouldn't have added markings to the branch? Oh! well, I have learnt a little more about doing things in the Cameo.

Art Deco Card

Hi Everyone, and especially to my new follower, thank you to everyone who follows me, I hope I make my posts interesting for you.

My card today is an Art Deco from a freebie Debbi Moore CD I had on a magazine a long while ago. I have never used it, and I came across it looking for an image to use on the Outlawz sketch challenge. I laid it out in PS, printed it out and layered it on gold mirror card. I added some pearls and a die to finish off the sketch shapes. I have to admit to thinking it quite elegant.
(I have just noticed in the photo a little bit of the sticky paper left on the die, have now removed it.)

CAS cut and print card

Hi Everyone, another CAS card from me, what's happening? LOL. Anyhow, I saw the image on Create with TLC a freebie of the day this week, and as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what to do, something quite rare for me.

I took the image into the Cameo design and after a lot of faffing about I eventually made it into a cut file, but, printed the sentiment onto a circle with the DP in it. My black card was thicker than it said on the cover and took 3 pieces of card and a double cut to cut it, not as cleanly as I wanted, but I thought quite acceptable to place on top of the printed circle. I then die cut a circle out of the ivory leather effect top card and raised it on dimensionals then placed black paper under it, placed the printed and cut circle in the middle of it glued flat.

I really wanted to add something and I'm still not sure if it needs something to finish it, I find it quite hard not to add something.

Birthday card

Hi Everyone, a birthday card from me today, I saw a card in a magazine that I really liked, by Keren Baker however I couldn't find it on her blog. I used it like a sketch. I found paper that I had as a freebie in a magazine yonks ago and I used a birthday die I had recently, I have used before and will again I'm sure. I die cut the centre twice with different size circles and cut 3 birthday dies in the blue, then added sparkle, added it to the card, but in daylight realised it wouldn't be seen enough, so cut it again and put it on slightly off the original cuts. Plain and simple today :) I really like the colour combo of the paper.

Mermaid

Hi Everyone, I am a bit short of cards to show you at the moment, so went to see if I had any I hadn't posted and came across this card, which I absolutely loved when I made it last September. She is a Day for Daisies image, I think I made her for a challenge and was out of time. Anyhow it was all laid out  and coloured in PS then printed and layered. I added a couple of pearls, I thought she may have picked up an oyster or 2 on her travels. I also used a SN marker to surround the white card and 3D'd the starfish

DSC March - Spring is in the Air!

It's time for the Monthly challenge at

the Theme is

Spring is in the Air

sponsored by  Lacy Sunshine

The DT were given images to work with and mine is the delightful "Mayde Spring Cleaning Dust Bunnies". I decided to make her "dirty", so much easier to colour dirty in PS, for me anyway. I copied the corner circles and added a PS pattern to them, made shapes to match the sketch, added paper on top of the circle and just colour for the sentiment shape and the background shape, then added the striped paper at the back. I had such fun "painting "Mayde Spring Cleaning".

Go see what my Teamies have done, and how about trying a digital layout yourselves. SO easy! I will print this out when I have someone moving into a new home or even a house proud friend of mine's birthday! I am naughty LOL. I'll probably save the shapes in a PNG file and print and cut with my Cameo.
